Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys

Bring your scope along, or come and look through other members’ equipment.  Talks are also organised in the Star Centre on site, and even on evenings of bad weather, they are still held, and so worth attending even when the clouds don’t go our way.

Good evening. I spoke to one of your members back in the summer at the Alkham valley fete. I explained that my partner had bought me a telescope & I had failed to set it up!! I really have no idea what I am doing! If I come along to your next public session, would someone be able to help me?

    • Hi Alison,

If you bring your scope along to the next session at the Simon Langton school, then as long as the night is looking like it’ll be at least partly clear, there will usually be someone there who can give you some advice and help you get your head around the scope and its use. Becoming a member will give you even more opportunity as you’d be able to come along to a members evening in Alkham village hall (we hold them on a proportion of our of our regular monthly meetings – few times a year generally!), or come up to our observing site near Bridge during one of the observing evenings that are held, usually once a month at least. Hope to hear from you again soon!
